Developer launches Singapore’s first smart EC

The Visionaire is touted as Singapore’s first smart home, with high-tech features courtesy of Samsung.

Qingjian Realty has unveiled what is being touted as Singapore’s first executive condominium (EC) project with homes of the future.

The Visionaire, a 99-year leasehold development on Canberra Drive in Sembawang, will comprise a total of 632 units across 16 blocks, along with a basement carpark and other condo facilities.

Buyers can choose from two- to four-bedroom units, each with an area of between 721 sq ft and 1,581 sq ft. There are also CoSpaceTM units with three to four bedrooms each, ranging from 1,119 sq ft to 1,549 sq ft in size.

High-tech features include a digital lock, an IP camera that allows homeowners to keep track of the goings-on in their houses, and a motion sensor that keeps track of the movement of one’s children and pets. There is also an energy sensor to optimise energy usage and lower utility bills.

Developed in partnership with tech giant Samsung, this home system features remote control via a centralised app for all smart devices in residents’ homes, including washing machines and air-conditioning units.

Qingjian Realty will absorb the subscription fee for the smart home system for the first year, while the fee for the subsequent years has yet to be finalised.

“The Visionaire is the first step that we are taking into developing next-generation homes. We are pioneering homes of the future to ensure that people can have a lifestyle that incorporates technology into every aspect of their day-to-day activities,” said the developer’s General Manager, Li Jun.

Based on a report by The Straits Times, the developer aims to sell each residential unit at S$750 psf to S$800 psf. E-applications for The Visionaire will begin on 8 April and the showroom at Wellington Circle will open on the same day, with bookings to start on 23 April. The EC project expects to receive its Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) by October 2018, and buyers will be allowed to move in by July 2019.
