Wee was the former chairman and founder of the real estate company Dennis Wee Group (DWG), which he founded in 1992 together with his wife Priska. DWG went on to merge with another local property firm, PropNex Realty, to form one of Singapore's largest real estate agencies in 2017.
Following the merger, Wee retired and passed the business on to his son, Denka. In his retirement, Wee started "Hokkien Mee Master", a passion project and entrepreneurial venture that he operated from his home kitchen.
A condolence notice by PropNex Realty read: "Dearly missed and fondly remembered by team leaders, salespersons, management and staff, Dr Wee remains a beloved figure in our hearts. His vision and leadership were pivotal in the successful merger of DWG with PropNex, a legacy that is set to continue."
