"Deception of the Novelist" to close 9th Asian Pop-Up Cinema

4 Jul – The upcoming Hong Kong film "Deception of the Novelist" has been chosen as the closing film of the 9th Asian Pop-Up Cinema event in Chicago.

As reported on Oriental Daily, lead actor and producer Justin Cheung recently stated that he was delighted upon hearing the good news, adding that his company would cherish the experience very much.

"I hope that our Hong Kong film will continue to shine and have a breakthrough outside of Asia," he said.

Justin also revealed that the movie was the fruit of his three-year effort and that he hopes it would be received with so much love from the audience it would warrant a sequel.

Co-starring Jeana Ho, Linah Matsuoka, and Kelly Chen, the film stars Justin as Xu Zhe, whose life with his wife and son turn unimaginable following the appearance of a new female tenant above their apartment.

Last year, the event chose the Anthony Wong-starring "Still Human" as its closing film.
