Deals of the day-Mergers and acquisitions

Oct 22 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 2000 GMT on Tuesday:

** PR Newswire owner Cision Ltd will be acquired by an affiliate of private equity firm Platinum Equity in an all-cash deal valued at $2.74 billion, the company said.

** SoftBank Group Corp agreed to spend more than $10 billion to take over WeWork, doubling down on an ill-fated investment and paying off its co-founder Adam Neumann to relinquish control, people familiar with the matter said on Tuesday.

** Sunrise Communications Group bowed to investor pressure and scrapped its 6.3 billion Swiss franc ($6.39 billion) acquisition of Liberty Global's Swiss cable business UPC.

** Temasek Holdings offers to buy controlling stake in Singapore-based conglomerate Keppel Corp in a S$4.1 billion ($3 billion) deal.

** Global cable-maker Prysmian said that U.S. Carlisle Companies Inc had offered to buy its French space and aerospace cables unit, Draka Fileca, for 73 million euros ($81.42 million).

** Dutch internet conglomerate Prosus made an unsolicited $6.3 billion cash bid to buy British food delivery firm Just Eat, using its superior firepower to try to scupper an all-share offer from rival Takeaway.com.

** Dutch meal delivery firm Takeaway.com said it thinks its bid for British peer Just Eat is superior to the counteroffer internet conglomerate Prosus.

** Howard Hughes Corp said it would sell about $2 billion of non-core assets, following the real estate developer's strategic review process.

** Brazilian petrochemicals company Braskem SA is considering the sale of up to $3 billion in bonds, Brazilian newspaper Valor Economico reported on Monday.

** Banco Santander said on Monday it had agreed to sell Santander Bancorp, the Spanish lender's retail and commercial banking franchise in Puerto Rico, to FirstBank Puerto Rico in a deal valued at $1.1 billion.

** Belgian digital imaging company Agfa Gevaert expects offers from rivals and private equity firms as it opens an auction of its healthcare information technology business on Tuesday, people close to the matter said.

** Norway's Telenor ASA and Sweden's Nordic Entertainment Group AB (NENT) will merge their Canal Digital and Viasat Consumer units to form a major regional TV distribution company, the two firms said.
