Cillian Murphy has opened up about filming sex scenes with Florence Pugh amid Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer coming out tomorrow. So, hands up who's curious?
In case you didn't know, the brand-new, hotly-anticipated biopic is set to land in cinemas nationwide tomorrow (21 July, 2023) and it features a five-star class of A-list actors and actresses including the likes of Cillian Murphy, Florence Pugh, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, and Robert Downey Jr. Yeah, it's a kind of a big cinematic deal.
And with a 15 age rating here in the UK (in part down to the film's "infrequent nudity and sexual content") it's been said that the film hosts a number of steamy sex scenes between Cillian's character, J Robert Oppenheimer and Florence's Jean Tatlock.
Chatting to The Sydney Morning Herald, Cillian explains that "those scenes were written deliberately" by director Christopher Nolan.
"He knew that those scenes would get the movie the rating that it got. And I think when you see it, it's so f**king powerful. And they're not gratuitous. They're perfect. And Florence is just amazing.
"I have loved Florence's work since Lady Macbeth and I think she's f**king phenomenal," Cillian went on to say, "She has this presence as a person and on screen that is staggering. The impact she has [in Oppenheimer] for the size of the role, it's quite devastating."
As if we needed anymore of a reason to go watch this!
