Chrissy Teigen has shared some snaps of her family's new basset hound puppy, Pearl, on Instagram and our hearts have melted. The teeny tiny pup's ears almost reach the floor in the accompanying video, and it's all just too cute!

The star captioned the post: "Pearl has touched down into the Legend/Teigen/Stephens household! We love this little girl so much already but I will admit, she has definitely taken to John first!!"

Telling followers to "Swipe for ear magic!", there are snaps of Pearl having some cuddles and a cosy nap in her new home.

It seems Pearl has already befriended the family's dog Penny, with Teigen continuing; "Penny is obsessed with her so it’s been fun watching the adventures of Penny and Pearl unfold."

Penny, who is missing a front leg, can be seen here with Chrissy and John's son Miles

Chrissy went on to reveal that Basset Hounds are a breed close to her heart, explaining: "I grew up with Basset Hounds so I can’t wait for John to see this bouncy, no-bones, jello mold of skin grow into the stubborn logs of love I love so much. Excited for this new little heart to add love to our home."

The household recently lost their beloved dog Pippa, with the news also being shared to Instagram in a sweet post.

The photo was captioned: "Our beautiful little Pippa just died in my arms, not long ago. She was 10, I remember picking her up in Gainesville and documenting our trip home. She was a sassy broad - loved her pearl necklace and never took shit from ANY new dog we brought in."

Continuing: "Our road dog with Sade, a tour dog for years. We loved her so much. We love you sweet girl. I know you’re giving Puddy hell up there. Thank you for giving us your whole life."

Hopefully Pearl's arrival will help comfort the family after losing such a treasured family member.
