Brooks: Fiscal 3Q Earnings Snapshot

CHELMSFORD, Mass. (AP) _ Brooks Automation Inc. (BRKS) on Thursday reported fiscal third-quarter profit of $7.3 million.

The Chelmsford, Massachusetts-based company said it had net income of 10 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 26 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 16 cents per share.

The supplier to semiconductor manufacturers posted revenue of $203.9 million in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $204.8 million.

For the current quarter ending in September, Brooks expects its per-share earnings to range from 21 cents to 26 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $192 million to $200 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.

Brooks expects full-year earnings in the range of 75 cents to 80 cents per share, with revenue ranging from $774 million to $782 million.

Brooks shares have climbed 44% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $37.78, a rise of 23% in the last 12 months.
