Samson Kayo has revealed whether there's a chance of a second season of Bloods.

The new Sky comedy, which was co-created by Kayo and Benidorm's Nathan Bryon, sees two unlikely south London paramedics paired together as they go about their working day.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Kayo said that he'd love to explore more of Maleek (Kayo) and Wendy's (Jane Horrocks) lives in more episodes.

"We've left it open," he explained. "I'd love to do more. Of course. Come on, man! It just depends on if the audience loves it, you know? I feed off of the viewers. I feed off of people's energies. If people love the show, I would love to do more.

"There are so many places we could go with this show. It'd be so nice to explore other characters, as well as what happens in Wendy and Maleek's lives. To just push that button and stick on those blue lights again would be amazing."

Kayo also told us what it was like having the opportunity to work with Absolutely Fabulous' Horrocks and described her as a "national treasure".

He added: "The main thing for this show, and for someone like Maleek, is to not judge a book by its cover. It's the same thing with Wendy, you know? We're both from different walks of life but you'll be so surprised by how much common ground we'll find together.

"Once Jane came in to read, once she accepted it and she came in and we had a little read, at first I was a bit like, 'I ain't gonna have nothing in common with this woman. We're so opposite.' And then we spoke and we learned so much about each other as people. And it helps the characters, so we continued to flesh out that relationship more.

"They are both like therapists for the other. They both teach each other. They're both learning about each other's cultures in this one ambulance cab. I think it's beautiful to see, especially because we both had no idea that we would click so much. It's amazing. And she's amazing."

Bloods airs on Sky One and NOW, with all episodes available to watch.
