Bershka launches in the US

Bershka pop-up NYC

Fashion retailer Bershka is making its US debut this fall with a pop-up store in the heart of SoHo, New York.

The store, which launched earlier this week, will remain open through the end of the year, offering US shoppers the chance to discover its Fall/Winter 2017 collections, including ‘Bershka', ‘Bsk' and ‘Man', as well as its unisex sports line ‘Start Moving'.

The brand's move to establish its first brick and mortar location stateside comes several months after it created an online presence in the country, setting up www.bershka.com for US shoppers back in April.

The building itself is a two-story, eco-efficient location stretching to 8,180 square feet, situated at 580 Broadway. Inside, the boutique showcases the brand's new ‘Stage' aesthetic -- a look inspired by what goes on behind the scenes at music concerts, mixing music, fashion and youth cultures. The interior design is industrial and airy, with open ceilings that reveal the building's skeleton and a truss scaffolding running around the perimeter. Hanging lighting, speakers and screens complete the look.

Founded in 1998, Bershka now counts 1,098 stores in 75 markets across Europe, the Americas and Asia. Over the last few years, the brand's international expansion strategy has focused on China, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea, and on flagship store openings in London, Milan, Shanghai, and Paris. The chain is part of the major fashion player, the Inditex Group, which also owns Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home and Uterqüe.
