MADRID (AP) _ Banco Santander SA (SAN) on Wednesday reported second-quarter net income of $2.03 billion.

The Madrid-based bank said it had earnings of 11 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 14 cents per share.

The financial holding company posted revenue of $14.33 billion in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $14.33 billion, beating Street forecasts.

Banco Santander shares have dropped 16 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 18 percent in the last 12 months.
