MAHWAH, N.J. (AP) _ Ascena Retail Group Inc. (ASNA) on Monday reported fiscal fourth-quarter net income of $33.2 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Mahwah, New Jersey-based company said it had profit of 17 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 7 cents per share.

The owner of clothing retail chains posted revenue of $1.77 billion in the period.

For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $39.7 million, or 20 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $6.58 billion.

For the current quarter ending in November, Ascena Retail expects its results to range from a loss of 4 cents per share to earnings of 6 cents per share.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $1.54 billion to $1.56 billion for the fiscal first quarter. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $1.55 billion.

Ascena Retail expects full-year revenue in the range of $6.45 billion to $6.55 billion.
