2 Best Credit Cards For Dining In Singapore

I'm a true blue foodie. Trying out new restaurants is one of my favourite leisure activities, and like most people I also eat out regularly during the week. Italian food tops my menu, but there is nothing like variety, and with all of the delicious restaurants and street food to put to the test, I don’t expect to be bored anytime soon.

Paying with a credit card where possible is always a good idea. Banks make deals with restaurants so that you can enjoy special discounts, 1-for-1 deals and all kinds of dining privileges!

A cashback credit card lets you cut your dining budget by giving you rebates on your restaurant spending, so you can do a lot more dining for your dollars.

To come up with the best credit cards for dining, we at GET.com compared dining rewards, benefits and fees to find the most rewarding offers for Singaporeans!

OCBC 365 Credit Card

OCBC 365 Credit Card is a very good cashback card and you only need a $30,000 annual income to apply. It has a $160.50 annual fee, waived for 2 years.

Cashback

Earn 6% cashback on weekend dining at restaurants, and 3% cashback on weekday dining. You also earn 3% cash back when you eat at restaurants overseas. The nice thing about this card is that it's also very good for other types of everyday purchases since it also gives you 3% cashback on groceries, online shopping, and recurring telco bills. You will also earn 5% cashback at all fuel stations, and up to 18.3% savings at Caltex and Esso stations. You can earn up to $80 cashback every month.

Discounts

You will also get special dining privileges and discounts of up to 50% off at select restaurants and fast food places islandwide.

Cons

The catch is that you need to spend at least $600 on this card each month or you will only earn 0.3% cashback on your purchases! On the other hand, it's pretty easy to spend over $600 a month if you use this card for your daily purchases.

ANZ Optimum World MasterCard

With ANZ Optimum World MasterCard you can pay faster and easier because it has PayPass which is a contactless payment system. You pay a $180 card fee per annum (waived for the first year).

Sign-Up Bonus

As a welcome bonus, you will be able to earn $88 cashback if you spend $388 with your card within the first 30 days of approval. That's a fantastic sign-up offer that will get Singaporeans' attention for sure!

Cashback

Earn 5% cashback on all restaurant dining if you choose the dining and leisure cashback category. Cashback is earned at restaurants, bars, hotels and cinemas. The best part is that there is no limit to the total amount of cashback you can earn! Earn 1% cashback on all your other purchases.

Cons

The main reason that this card only got second place is because you need to have an annual income of $80,000 or more to be eligible for this card. And although there is no limit on the total amount of cashback you can earn, it's limited to a $30 rebate per transaction. If you meet the income required, this is the best cashback card to get!
