Facebook May Soon Make Chips for Its Hardware Products

Bloomberg has reported that Facebook (FB) is planning to design chips to power its servers, AI (artificial intelligence) software, and smart speakers, according to a recent job filing. The report pointed out that the tech giant has reduced its dependence on chipmakers in recent years, much like Apple and Alphabet’s Google. Apple could soon start using its chips in Mac computers, and has used its own chips in some iPhones in the past.
