MTR Gaming reports $6.2m loss in 1st quarter, cites harsh winter and ongoing competition

CHESTER, W.Va. (AP) -- MTR Gaming Group is reporting a first-quarter loss of $6.2 million, or 22 cents per share.

Chester-based MTR reported a loss of $800,000, or 3 cents per share, during the same period in 2013.

Revenues at Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort in Chester dropped 6.6 percent to $45.9 million.

At Presque Isle Downs & Casino in Erie, Pa., revenues fell 11.9 percent to $33.1 million.
