Former FDIC head Sheila Bair joins Thomson Reuters board
NEW YORK (AP) -- Sheila Bair, the former chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., has been elected to the board of financial data provider Thomson Reuters Corp.
Bair, 60, played a key role in the government's response to the 2008 financial crisis, assuring Americans that their deposits were safe amid bank failures in the worst financial meltdown since the Great Depression.
Thomson Reuters has 13 directors, who were elected at the company's annual meeting Thursday.
