Europe's stock markets fell in opening deals on Tuesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of top companies down 0.26 percent at 6,858.28 points.
Elsewhere, the CAC 40 in Paris dipped 0.14 percent to 4,930.06 and Frankfurt's DAX 30 shed 0.23 percent compared with Monday's closing level to 11,555.97 points.
