Europe's main stock markets drifted lower at the start of trading on Thursday, with London's London's FTSE 100 index of top companies down 0.09 percent at 6,098.34 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 index fell 0.18 percent to 7,677.28 points and in Paris the CAC 40 also declined 0.09 percent to 3,705.04.
