Dow Chemical increases quarterly dividend, expands share-repurchase authorization
MIDLAND, Mich. (AP) -- Dow Chemical Co. increased its quarterly dividend and expanded its share-repurchase program.
The dividend will rise to 37 cents per share from 32 cents per share. It will be payable April 30 to shareholders as of March 31.
The company last raised its dividend in March 2012, from 25 cents per shares. In 2011 Dow increased its shareholder payout by a dime, from 15 cents per shares, as it recovered from a horrible downturn during the recession.
Also, the company said Wednesday that it had tripled its share-buyback authorization to $4.5 billion from $1.5 billion.
