Indonesia probing Shopee, Lazada units for suspected anti-competition rule breaches

JAKARTA, May 27 (Reuters) - Indonesia's anti-trust agency is investigating the local units of e-commerce platforms Shopee and Lazada for suspected violations of anti-competition rules, it said on Monday.

The companies are PT Shopee Internasional Indonesia, and PT Ecart Webportal Indonesia, which operates Lazada, it said. Shopee is owned by Southeast Asian technology firm Sea Ltd , while Lazada is Alibaba's Southeast Asian arm. (Reporting by Stanley Widianto; Editing by Martin Petty)
