'Sudden' Hail Hits Amarillo as Severe Storms Warned Across Northwest Texas

A “sudden” burst of hail hit Amarillo, Texas, on May 16 as severe storms were warned across northwest Texas.

Multiple severe storms capable of producing hail were expected to affect the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles late on May 16, according to the National Weather Service.
