Stocks mixed following Wednesday's rally, tech leaders dip

Yahoo Finance's Brian Cheung takes a look at what's moving markets in the final hour of trading, including tech names like Apple and Microsoft.

Video transcript

BRIAN CHEUNG: Well, Rachelle, one hour until the closing bell on Wall Street. And stocks currently trading mixed despite the fact that we actually started the day ripping higher after that pretty encouraging report on the producer price index showing that, actually, prices softened from the producer view in the month of July. The S&P 500 now essentially unchanged from where it ended the day yesterday. The NASDAQ composite, those tech stocks, down half a percent. And the Dow Jones up only 1/10 of a percent.

In the bond markets, we've seen some movement as well. When you take a look at the US 10-year yield, up about 11 basis points in one day, pretty remarkable movement, to 2.89%. If you take a look at some of the winners so far in the Dow Jones on this Thursday, you can see some losers, Apple, , Microsoft, some winners, Disney, after earnings yesterday. And some of the financial stocks, JPMorgan Chase getting a boost as well, Rachelle.
