Search resumes for second black box of Indonesia's jet

The underwater search was halted the previous day (January 13) due to bad weather and high waves. Officials hoped that the improved weather on Thursday can support search operations.

A team of divers recovered one of two of the plane's so-called black boxes, the flight data recorder (FDR), from the seabed on Tuesday with efforts underway to retrieve the cockpit voice recorder (CVR).

"There will be light rain around Jakarta but in the afternoon it will be sunny, or slightly cloudy. Hopefully the good weather can support our operations on the ground and maximise their efforts, because the family members relied on us, no matter what, to find the victims or debris," said Rasman MS, Indonesia's search and resue director.
