Rain Delay Called as Storms Pass Over St Louis Cardinals Game

A Major League Baseball game between the New York Mets and the St Louis Cardinals was delayed on Thursday afternoon, May 6, as pouring rain and hail descended on Busch Stadium.

Footage shows fans huddling under awnings as scattered showers moved over St Louis, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The game was expected to resume after a brief delay. The NWS said storms in southeastern Missouri and Illinois were continuing to move eastward, threatening “occasional lightning and small hail.” Credit: Matthew Wilson via Storyful
