Police Tell Residents to Stay Home as Blowing Snow Causes Whiteout Conditions in Maine

Police told residents in Maine to stay at home as snow and blowing winds caused whiteouts and “deplorable” road conditions on Tuesday, March 2.

Thousands of power outages were also reported in northern and eastern Maine, the National Weather Service said.

Video shared by Maine State Police showed near-whiteout conditions on Route 1 just outside Westfield, Maine, where only the stop sign at an intersection could be seen. Credit: Maine State Police – Headquarters via Storyful
