Lava Threatens Homes and Businesses in La Palma Village

Advancing lava was threatening homes and businesses in La Laguna, on Spain’s La Palma island, on Wednesday, October 20, with video showing the smoldering mass edging towards a gas station.

The Canary Islands Volcanology Institute (Involcan) said the video showed the scene at 1:40 pm local time. Nearby to the gas station are a cafe, pharmacy, bank and other businesses.
