Supporters and well-wishers of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa gathered outside the Apollo Hospital in Chennai after her condition was reported critical following a cardiac arrest last night. Police personnel in large numbers were deployed and the area outside the hospital was barricaded to control the crowd. Central Police Reserve Force (CRPF) has also been put on high alert. The Chief Minister's condition is being monitored by a team of cardiologists, pulmonologists and critical care specialists.
