The second-tallest tower of Barcelona’s Sagrada Família was inaugurated on December 8 with a mass and the lighting of a giant star, officials said.
Footage by 13_chica_maravilla_13 shows the moment the star atop the Virgin Mary tower was lit on Wednesday night.
This was the first tower to be completed since 1976, according to reports. The overall construction of the Sagrada Familia was due to be complete by 2026, marking the centenary of architect Antoni Gaudí’s death, but that date has been pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
