Family of Emus Calmly Crosses Road in Australian Outback

A family of emus held up traffic in the Queensland outback, as they calmly crossed a road in Longreach.

This footage taken by Laura LG Grant, who said it was filmed on October 15, shows the family of flightless birds waddling across a rural road, with the caption “This daddy has his hands full”.

According to the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), an Australian government scientific organisation, male emus are typically left to care for their young, who “will stay with him for up to 6 months” after they are hatched. Credit: Laura LG Grant via Storyful
