Elon Musk committing another $6.25B to Twitter bid: SEC filing

Yahoo Finance Live's Jared Blikre reports on Tesla CEO Elon Musk boosting his equity commitments towards his bid for Twitter, now totaling $33.5 billion.

Video transcript

SEANA SMITH: We want to get to some breaking news. Jared Blikre has that for us. It involves Elon Musk. Jared, what do you have?

JARED BLIKRE: That's right. More information on the Twitter potential purchase saga. We just got a 13D Amendment filing, where he is now boosting his aggregate amount of equity commitment to $33.5 billion. So that's an additional $6.25 billion. So more of that is going to come out of Elon's pocket, should he decide to go through with this. And you can see, Twitter is up 10% there after being up 3.91% today. It matches up maybe in sympathy.

But I just want to show you what's happening to Tesla right now. Because in the NASDAQ 100, we see-- it's kind of hard to see, but Tesla is down about 88 basis points. So difficult to see how this is going to affect the market tomorrow, but I'll tell you what, we're going to be talking about it.

SEANA SMITH: All right, certainly a stock to watch tomorrow. All right, Jared Blikre, thanks so much.
