Economic data and earnings expected next week

Yahoo Finance Live anchor Dave Briggs highlights the economic data and company earnings report to watch out for next week.

Video transcript

DAVE BRIGGS: Here's what to watch next week. Monday should be pretty quiet, but needless to say after a disastrous end to the week we'll be seeing if stocks bounce back. On Tuesday, we'll get durable goods orders and another glimpse at housing with the Case-Shiller Home Price Index and new home sales. Also earnings from Cracker Barrel and Blackberry. Thursday, we'll get final Q2 GDP figures. They're released as are initial jobless claims.

We'll also get some earnings with Bed, Bath, Beyond. Don't expect good things there. Rite Aid, CarMax, and Carnival reporting as well. This all leads up to the all important end of the week. PCE reading on Friday as well as the University of Michigan's Consumer Confidence Index. And with that, the end of Q3. So a pretty eventful week, but hopefully we will see some bounce back in the markets.
