Demonstrations in Armenian Capital Amid Calls for Snap Election

Two separate rallies were held in the Armenian capital of Yerevan on March 1, amid calls for a snap elections as political tensions continued to rise following the conflict with Azerbaijan, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan staged a rally in the city’s Republican Square, while the opposition Fatherland Salvation Movement protested at Baghramyan Avenue, demanding Pashinyan’s resignation, Armen Press reported. Credit: RFE/RFL via Storyful
