From today's news: "Meta’s Marcus, Creator of Embattled Diem Project, to Step Down"
Embattled Diem project? Does this mean SI's partnership with FB is at risk?

this is scary. Only reason for the drop is bitcoin.

This is a great trading stock and I play it three ways. I day trade on margin whenever the stocks drops at least 12 points. As soon as I buy, I place a GTC order 10 points above my purchase price. On shares I purchased without margin, I sell call options 20 points out of the money, usually 60 days out on the strike price. Lastly, I hold some designated shares longterm. A highly volatile stock like SI that's making money and has so much positive coverage is too good an opportunity to let go by. However, like the old adage, "you're smart until you're not."

When this is a 4 digit stock people will be wondering what they were doing when it was at $200

By now I think everyone realizes that Silvergate does not necessarily mirror the price of bitcoin. MARA does, MSTR seems to, and COIN does to some extent. But SI is so much more than a bitcoin play. As a very profitable bank, they enable the store of value for institutional crypto holders, they have an important partnership with Facebook's crypto, and they provide traditional banking to clients as well. JP Morgan recently came out with a $300 price target, which many feel will be exceeded after reaching that level. With the low float, I would expect SI to announce a split in the near term, to allow more institutional participation in the stock and reduce the volatility a bit. I will continue to add shares; I'm in this for the long haul.

SI ahead of the curve yet again. With Fed announcing "road map" to crypto, BIG BANKS already crying over the missed opportunity and leveling the playing fields, claiming they want to protect the consumer. Insert eye roll. SI was smarter than everyone a decade ago and they are smarter than everyone now. Signature Bank only serious competition at this point. Bought in a 12.00 and will hold until I need the $$$.

Bought 1400 shares at $139, in early October. Holding those as my core position, but have also been trading the heck out of the volatility in my ROTH, making even more $$. This is a crazy ride...this and COIN.

JPMorgan names $ 300 for Silvergate.
Almost all gaming companies rely on NTFs. In my technical understanding, trading digital goods requires wallets and a real-time transaction platform like Silvergate's
So this could be a really big deal. It is a first intuition of what the future might look like. If it were certain, the price would be at USD 20 billion market cap. But the price development of Silvergate shows that there could be something to this inuition.
