I feel this is a great buy here on the sell off! This is the dip that I have been waiting for to buy shares. I'm buying here at high 264's.

Why the crash? Earnings leak? Bad earnings?

Sea Limited's share price is like being in an elevator. We're on floor 1 of a 10 story building.

I agree with a few other comments that this is likely connected to tencent and their stake in SE. There was also a sale by a director of 30,000 shares reported but that is small compared with tencent. I will add a little here but keep a close eye as the CCP may force tencent to sell a lot of shares, so be careful. SE hasn't changed and this should be a gift in while.

By the way, let me tell you why buy the dip mentality is wrong: too many retail investors are doing it.

Buy the dip only works when you buy it undervalued. What happened during this COVID is too many retailers profited easy and their mentality was too confident.

If everyone believes in buy the dip, then stock price will go up more than necessary. This stock will not be undervalued and there is no value attached to buy the dip.

Did it do it? I see $300.00 as day high, too busy watching other big winners of the day like $ROKU

CCP is like a multi tentacled octopus, with arms reaching far and beyond.

Tencent is in trouble with CCP, and it so happens tencent owns a decent chunk of SE.

The implication of tencent reevaluating its business priorities ripples all the way into companies it holds portions of.

Guys, seriously though, the way I see it:

    1. CCP-Tencent impact
    2. Retreat from ATH, 300 is just ridiculous
    3. Nice data today (Richmond FED) + FOMC meeting, tapering talk on the agenda. Market is super nervous.

All 3 contributed to the sell off today. Whether this sell off will continue depends on your own judgement. It could go either way. I am staying short because my target is $200 in the short term. $150 by December.

A quote from Sun Microsystems CEO Scott McNealy from 2002:

“At 10 times revenues, to give you a 10-year payback, I have to pay you 100% of revenues for 10 straight years in dividends. That assumes I can get that by my shareholders. That assumes I have zero  cost of goods sold, which is very hard for a computer company. That assumes zero expenses, which is  really hard with 39,000 employees. That assumes I pay no taxes which is very hard. And that assumes  you pay no taxes on your dividends which is kind of illegal. And that assumes with zero R&D for the next 10 years, I can maintain the current revenue run rate. Now, having done that, would any of you like to buy my stock at $64? Do you realize how ridiculous those basic assumptions are? You don’t need  any transparency. You don’t need any footnotes. What were you thinking?”

I got in at $266. SE is partially in bed with the Chinese, as the CCP kills the goose laying golden eggs (capitalism). But Singapore is one of the most free economies in the world. At this level, I’ll take a flyer and keep SE on a short leash.

Nice to hit $300. ShopeeFood, Shopee Express are really growing as are Shopee Brazil and Shopee Mexico. Numbers in August will beat estimates. SE's price is going to have a really big jump after earnings. Very bullish!

SEA (stands for South East Asia) limited is a Singaporean company doing business mainly in Southeast Asia not at all in China.
While it is not a secret that Tencent owns about 23% of $SE, through arrangement the voting rights of those shares, I believe, were given to CEO Forrest Li. Forrest (is now a Singapore citizen) has at least 37.7% of total votes. The other major holders are:
