Where the real use cases for AI are right now: Analyst

While the AI hype continues on Wall Street, with some companies making major investments in it, questions around how it will actually be used have arisen. Jefferies senior analyst Brent Thill joins Market Domination Overtime to give insight into AI use cases and what investors and consumers can expect with how its used moving forward. "It's all in infrastructure. If you look at, energy, data centers, Nvidia's (NVDA) outperformance. So we've talked about AI being in infrastructure. It's not in applications. It will spread and it will come to our lives. And I think you've already seen it in some of the products that Google (GOOG, GOOGL) has. You're seeing it in my daily use of Perplexity. You're seeing it now, companies-- in many in the financial services organizations are starting to roll out, Microsoft Copilot (MSFT), and we're just getting initial access. So we're all going through the training." He continues with the potential time frame to really see AI flourish: "I think every industry is going to be impacted and it's going to be slow. It's not going to happen overnight. And I've said this... companies like Salesforce.com (CRM) have said zero revenue from AI. So it's coming to a theater near you. It's not out yet, but it's going to take a long time." For more expert insight and the latest market action, click here to watch this full episode of Market Domination Overtime. Why shareholders should be excited by Alphabet-Wiz deal: Analyst

Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL) is in talks to acquire cyber security startup Wiz for $23 billion, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. Jefferies senior analyst Brent Thill joins Market Domination Overtime to give insight into the movements in big tech, the cloud space, and why he believes this merger will be a successful one for Alphabet. Thill is excited by this deal, stating: "I think this makes a lot more sense given that they [Wiz] can address both small, mid, and large enterprises with this technology. That the government--there's zero chance, in my opinion, they could push back on this because it's enabling the security and safety of data, and no one has dominant market share, so it makes a lot of sense for us. So, again, we've heard a lot of chatter, and M&A by Google. None of it's happened, clearly, the HubSpot deal, at least in the interim, fell apart. But this deal, in my opinion, makes a lot more sense. I'd be a lot more excited as a shareholder if this was happening. New Ray-Ban Meta glasses have outsold previous version, Essilux CEO says

Meta Platforms and EssilorLuxottica's new generation of smart glasses have sold more in a few months than the old ones did in two years, EssilorLuxottica's Chief Executive said on Tuesday. The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses went on the market last October, allowing users to livestream directly from the glasses to followers on Facebook and Instagram. The smart glasses have Meta AI built in, with the ability to give information on the item a user is looking at.
