Famous inventors who helped changed our world, but not all their inventions were a success

Necessity is the mother of invention and curiosity the father. Several famous risk-taking inventors helped change the world by creating objects out of curiosity. While some of their inventions worked wonders and made the world what it is today, some other objects and ideas that arose out of their curiosity proved to be duds.
