GUANGZHOU, China (AP) _ YY Inc. (YY) on Monday reported third-quarter earnings of $94.7 million.

On a per-share basis, the Guangzhou, China-based company said it had net income of $1.46. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.76 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.73 per share.

The social media company posted revenue of $597 million in the period.

YY shares have fallen 46 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $61.07, a decrease of 31 percent in the last 12 months.
