New York Times Co. (NYT) came out with quarterly earnings of $0.19 per share, in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate. This compares to earnings of $0.26 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

A quarter ago, it was expected that this newspaper publisher would post earnings of $0.35 per share when it actually produced earnings of $0.43, delivering a surprise of 22.86%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates three times.

New York Times , which belongs to the Zacks Publishing - Newspapers industry, posted revenues of $537.43 million for the quarter ended March 2022, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 1.08%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $473.05 million. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates three times over the last four quarters.
