WOW air introduces new 'premium' class tickets

WOW air introduces new 'premium' class tickets

Ultra-low cost carrier WOW air has reversed its flight path and introduced a new premium, full-service ticket bundle for flyers who are willing to pay more for bigger seats, in-flight meals and more checked baggage allowance.

Alongside bargain basement pricing that includes one-way transatlantic flights for less than US $100, business and leisure flyers can opt for an upgrade that aligns more with the flight experience common on legacy carriers.

The WOW premium ticket bundle includes a bigger seat and increased legroom; priority boarding and fast-track security; an in-flight meal; two checked bags; one carry-on item; and no change fee for rescheduling and cancelation.

But unlike legacy airlines, the added perks will come with lower price points, says WOW air.

To promote the new airfare class, the carrier is launching one-way fares for as low as US $399 from Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York to Iceland.

One-way fares from LA, San Francisco and New York to Amsterdam, Paris and London via Iceland will also be sold for as low as $599.

In other words, the "premium" ticket equals roughly the price of an economy class ticket on a legacy carrier.
