‘Whistle-Blower’ Suit Against Chinese Bank Withdrawn in New York

(Bloomberg) -- A former Agricultural Bank of China Ltd. compliance officer in New York has withdrawn her lawsuit against the lender, after earlier alleging she was effectively forced out of the bank for her actions as a whistle-blower.

Natasha Taft, the bank’s former chief compliance officer in the city, had alleged she was penalized for telling the Federal Reserve of money-laundering risks from international trade-finance transactions. Taft had also alleged gender discrimination. She left the bank last year.

The case was withdrawn this month by agreement of the parties, according to documents filed in federal court in Manhattan. The records don’t disclose whether Taft will receive any payment in settlement of her claim.

The case was Taft v. Agricultural Bank of China Ltd, 15-cv-5321, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York (Manhattan).
