Wells Fargo reshuffles top management

Wells Fargo names new head of wholesale banking and chief financial officer

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Wells Fargo & Co. said Tuesday that its chief financial officer will become head of its wholesale banking group.

The San Francisco-based bank said that Timothy Sloan, a 26-year veteran at the company who has worked as CFO since 2011, will take on this new role May 15. He will succeed David Hoyt, who is retiring after 32 years at the company. Hoyt will remain with the company until June 30 to help with the transition of responsibilities.

Wells Fargo said that John Shrewsberry, current head of Wells Fargo Securities and an executive vice president, will succeed Sloan as chief financial officer and become a senior executive vice president.

Shares of Wells Fargo added 3 cents to close at $49.77.
