Razer opens Southeast Asia HQ in Singapore; boosts hiring

SINGAPORE — Razer officially opened its S$100 million Southeast Asia headquarters in Singapore this week amid plans to expand in the region.

The seven-storey building which is located at One-North, home to Singapore's technology and business hub, comes clad in black with acid green lines streaking across it — a tribute to the brand’s instantly recognisable aesthetic.

“The new regional hub represents everything that Razer stands for, from innovation, to design, to sustainability, and will not only be home to Razer’s growing staff, but to up-and-coming entrepreneurs, and even gamers looking for a place to train and learn as well," said co-founder and chief executive Tan Min-Liang said. The company plans to expand its workforce in Singapore to 1,000 employees from 600, Tan said.

The headquarters is also home to the first RazerStore in Singapore, and visitors can try the coffee prepared by a state-of-the-art robotic barista arm at the RazerCafe. Guests can order a beverage at the store or pre-order a cup of coffee via the RazerCafe app and collect it in-store.

The building, which is equipped with eco-friendly features, such as solar panels to power parts of the day-to-day operations and sensor-enabled lighting system for energy effectiveness, has received the Building and Construction Authority's Green Mark GoldPlus certification. Razer has also partnered with flexible workspace provider, JustCo, to offer shared office spaces.

To celebrate the opening of Razer’s Southeast Asia Headquarters opening with fans across the region, Razer will hold a livestreaming event in November.
