Waste Management (WM) Outpaces Stock Market Gains: What You Should Know

Waste Management (WM) closed the most recent trading day at $155.65, moving +1.75% from the previous trading session. This move outpaced the S&P 500's daily gain of 1.06%. At the same time, the Dow added 1.05%, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq gained 0.55%.

Heading into today, shares of the garbage and recycling hauler had lost 4.02% over the past month, outpacing the Business Services sector's loss of 8.97% and the S&P 500's loss of 8.3% in that time.

Waste Management will be looking to display strength as it nears its next earnings release. On that day, Waste Management is projected to report earnings of $1.11 per share, which would represent a year-over-year decline of 12.6%.
