KUALA LUMPUR: VIETJET, the international low-cost airline from Vietnam, has launched two new routes connecting Hanoi with Taipei and Hanoi with Hue at Noi Bai International Airport, as part of its network expansion plan.
The exercise is also part of the carrier’s plan to meet the increasing travel demand of individuals and tourists, which will in turn help to boost the regional trade and integration.
The Hanoi-Taipei route will be operated on a daily basis from Sunday with the three-hour flight per leg.
The flight will take off from Hanoi at 2.05pm and land in Taipei at 6pm (local time). The return flight will depart at 7.10pm and reach Hanoi at 9.20pm (Vietnam time).
On the other hand, the Hanoi-Hue route commenced operations yesterday with the flight time of one hour and 10 minutes.
The flight will depart from Hanoi at 12.35pm and arrive at 1.45pm in Hue. The return flight will take off from Hue at 2.20pm and reach Hanoi at 3.30pm (local time).
Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Huynh Vinh Ai, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office head in Hanoi, Richard Shih Rui Chi, dignities from Hanoi city and Thua Thien Hue province, as well as leaders from Vietnam government attended and witnessed the inaugural flight ceremony recently.
With the two new routes, VietJet’s flight network now has more than 20 routes connecting Hanoi with key destinations in Vietnam and Asia, such as South Korea, Bangkok, Taipei, thus greatly contributing to the capital city’s economic and tourism growth.
Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, is well known for its thousand-year historical heritage and serenity.
