VEGOILS-Market factors to watch December 15

Reuters

The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and

other vegetable oil markets.

FUNDAMENTALS

* Malaysian palm oil futures hit a 16-month low on Thursday, weighed down by low

demand and high stockpiles, as well as weakness in edible oils on China's Dalian

Commodity Exchange.

* U.S. soybean futures sagged to their lowest in more than two months on

Thursday, weighed down by forecasts for much-needed rains in Argentina, traders

said.

* Oil prices rose on Thursday as a pipeline outage in Britain continued to

support prices despite forecasts showing global crude surplus in the beginning

of next year.

MARKET NEWS

* Asian shares edged higher on Friday, on track for weekly gains, though

sentiment was kept in check by Wall Street's weakness on concerns about the

progress of U.S. tax reform.
