Cuba Libre
Location? Check. Vibes? Check. Atas looking food? Yes. If this is your first Valentine’s Day with your date, and you’re afraid of the paiseh and awkward silence that may arise, opt for the Cubanese restaurant Cuba Libre.
Located along the bustling nightlife alleys of Clarke Quay, Cuba Libre will be serving up a 3-course Valentine’s Dinner Menu at S$70++ per pax (comes with a vegeterian option too). Price comes with 2 glasses of wine or Prosecco.
Cuba Libre address: 3B River Valley Road, Clarke Quay Block B, #01-13 Reservations: 8418 0203
The Gyu Bar
Here’s a truly classy restaurant that’s bound to wow your date. The Gyu Bar (next to the Mercure Hotel Steven) is located a stone’s throw from the former Raffles Girls School campus and right smack in the super atas Stevens Road estate of multi-million condominiums. But hey, don’t freak out at the prices yet. The Gyu Bar’s Valentine’s Day Wagyu Uni Chirashi Bento is priced pretty reasonably at $65++ per pax.
While you sip on the free tap water or tea, let the interiors of the restaurant transport you and your date to a traditional ryokan in Japan… and perhaps spark some conversation about planning a trip together to Nihon-land too.
You’re welcome.
The Gyu Bar address: 30 Stevens Road, #01-08 Reservations: 6732 0702
You Are My Sunshine
If your date is a plant lover who drops long scientific plant names… bring him or her to the trendy mixed concept Korean hair salon/cafe called You Are My Sunshine at Ngee Ann City (5th floor). While the cafe doesn’t have a specific Valentine’s Day menu, your partner will definitely enjoy dining whilst surrounded by the dense flora and fauna. Expect mains to cost ~$30, desserts ~$25, and drinks ~$7, bringing the total cost per pax to $72 with GST.
Got an extra $65 to spend? Book your date a hair wash and blow at You Are My Sunshine’s hair salon to earn yourself extra points.

Fancy dining on 57th floor of the famed Marina Bay Sands Hotel and by its infinity pool this Valentine’s Day? Try Spago’s 3-course lunch menu at $65++ per pax from 12 to 2:30pm. Just remember to ask the waiter for a parking coupon when you bill.
Your partner wants something “different” this Valentine’s Day? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Try the Bee’s Knees Valentine’s Day Picnic dinner at $100 nett for 2 pax.
Located at The Garage in Botanic Gardens, Bee’s Knees is a 6 minute walk from Botanic Gardens MRT station (Circle and Downtown lines). They’re known for their picnic baskets lunch and dinner sets with mains spanning pizzas, aglio olio, and salads. Basically you pick up your picnic basket from the restaurant between 5:30 to 6pm, find a spot in Botanic Gardens, set up your picnic mat, food, and dine as the sun sets. Then, return the basket whenever you’re done. Easy peasy!
