UTA Signs Big Picture Cinema Group (EXCLUSIVE)

UTA has signed Canada-based production and financing company Big Picture Cinema Group for broad representation encompassing financing, packaging, sales and distribution and advisory services.

UTA Independent Film Group, which specializes in global film finance, worldwide sales and distribution, the festival marketplace as well as advising clients and financiers on scripted and unscripted content, will be the primary partner to Big Picture inside the agency.

Big Picture is a team of producers and financiers with proven track records in film and television. The leadership team includes Jayce Barreiro, Jared Zhang, Jacky Lai and Graem Luis.

Big Picture’s next movie is the survival horror thriller “Night Comes,” starring Dafne Keen (“Deadpool & Wolverine,” “Logan,” “The Acolyte”) and Samantha Lorraine (“Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado”, “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah,” “The Walking Dead”). The film is directed by Jay Hernandez (“Hostel,” “Suicide Squad,” “Magnum PI”), who is making his feature directorial debut.

“Night Comes” unfolds against the backdrop of a cataclysmic event that threatens to engulf humanity. Two sisters manage to escape the horror only find themselves thrust into a perilous struggle for survival, tasked with a mission that holds the fate of mankind in the balance. Big Picture promises a spine-chilling experience in the vein of “Birdbox” and “The Descent.”

The film is produced by Big Picture partners Barreiro and Lai alongside Impossible Dream Entertainment partners Shaun Redick (“Get Out,” “Day Shift,” “BlacKkKlansman”) and Yvette Yates Redick (“Day Shift,” upcoming “Lost & Found in Cleveland”). Executive producers are Hernandez, Keen, Zhang, Luis and Jason Bourque. Big Picture is co-financing the movie, for which principal photography begins in September in Vancouver.
