U.S Investors Under Microscope, Wall Street Expected to Open Higher

Weekly jobs numbers will come from the States today, along with the Philly Fed Manufacturing Index and Industrial Production figures. Retail Sales data from the U.K came in with a gain of 0.3%, which was better than its estimate. The Pound has been firm against the U.S Dollar.

U.S Investors Will Be Watched Carefully Today

Wall Street is being called to open higher via its Future Markets. However, the three major indexes saw widespread selling yesterday, and U.S investors will be watched carefully by their global counterparts. Unemployment Claims will be released today. Yesterday’s Consumer Price Index showed inflation remains rather muted in the U.S when it met its estimate.

Swift Turnaround & Gains for Asian Equities, Yen in Tight Range Early

Asian traders showed the ability to turn around today. After suffering deep and nervous losses on Wednesday, today’s trading sessions produced swift gains. The Nikkei Index gained nearly 1.5% and has recorded over a 5% climb the past month. The Yen has battled a rather tight range this morning and is near 113.20 against the U.S Dollar.

U.K Retail Sales Beat Estimate, Pound Solid Against U.S Dollar

Retail Sales figures from the U.K have come in slightly better than expected today with a gain of 0.3 compared to the estimated result of o.1%. The Pound has remained firm against the U.S Dollar and is near 1.3170 against the U.S Dollar. European Central Bank President Draghi will be speaking Friday and Italian Trade Balance numbers will be issued.

Gold Breakouts Proving Problematic, Fast Breakouts in Gold

Gold remains problematic. The tight range of the precious metal has shown a tendency to produce fast breakouts in both directions. Gold is near 1277.00 U.S Dollars an ounce and will remain speculative today and tomorrow.

Philly Manufacturing Survey Coming, U.S Industrial Numbers

If a surprise outcome comes from the Philly Fed Manufacturing Index in the U.S when it is published at 13:30 GMT it could have an impact on traders.
