So, turns out Prince William and Prince Harry have a step-brother?

If you thought Prince William and Prince Harry only had one another as siblings – think again! The royal brothers actually have two other step-sibs in the mix, a sister, Laura Lopes, and a brother, Tom Parker Bowles, both of whom are their stepmother Camilla's children from a previous relationship (with army officer, Andrew Parker Bowles). But who exactly is Tom Parker Bowles? And does he spend all day hanging around the Palace?

In a word: absolutely not. Tom, who is 47 (making him eight years older than William and ten years senior to Harry), has a successful career as a food writer and critic, has penned over seven cookbooks and also co-founded a pork scratchings brand, Mr Trotter's Great British Pork Crackling... meaning he's likely a very busy chap.

Initially though, he began his career working as a junior publicist, before stepping into a role as Tatler's food columnist. Coincidentally, Tom's sister, Laura, also had a stint at the magazine when she was their resident motoring correspondent.

Tom has two children, Lola (who was born in 2007) and Freddy (who came along in 2010), that he shares with former partner, Sara – also a writer.

As for his relationship with William and Harry, it's not often that Tom has been spotted in public with his royal stepbrothers, but they were all pictured having a good old natter at the wedding ceremony of Charles and Camilla, back in 2005:

And Tom does occasionally make a public appearance with his mum, Camilla, from time to time – they both seem to be big fans of attending horse-related events together, such as the Cheltenham Festival Of Horse Racing, and Camilla also turned up to support Tom at the launch of his book, Fortnum & Mason: Christmas and Other Winter Feasts in 2018:

Despite once describing himself and sister Laura as "straight-out commoners" who aren't "part of the Royal Family", it sounds like Tom has nothing but good things to say when it comes to his royally famous stepfather (and indeed mum).

Back in 2015 [via The Express] he said, "All you care about [when it comes to parents] is they're happy and my mother is exceptionally happy at the moment. I've always adored my stepfather; he's always been a kind and good and lovely man.

"He is a man of warmth, intelligence and humanity and I think if it ever happens, he will make a fantastic King."

So there we have it, Prince William and Prince Harry's not-so-secret brother!
