TOKYO, Jan 23 (Reuters) - Toyota Motor has been suspending production of three production lines at two plants in northern Japan since Jan. 19 to check some production processes, the Yomiuri newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The suspension at Iwate and Miyagi Ohira factories, both operated by Toyota Motor East Japan, will last at least until Wednesday, the newspaper said. Toyota plans to decide later on Tuesday whether or not to resume operations from Wednesday, the report said.

Both plants produce the Yaris compact car and the Sienta compact minivans. (Reporting by Mariko Katsumura; editing by Jonathan Oatis)
