How to Take a Tour of the White House Gardens This Fall

There are many different ways to celebrate the arrival of fall. For those who want to welcome the season in a more presidential manner, take a hint from Barack Obama and go for a stroll to look at the changing leaves of the South Lawn.

The White House Gardens will open for one weekend in October for their annual fall tours.

On October 8 and 9, visitors will be able to access several of the famous White House Gardens for free.

The National Park Service will give out timed tickets at the Ellipse Visitor Pavilion starting at 8:30 a.m. the morning of each tour. There will be a limit of one ticket per person, so everyone who wants to go will have to wait in line.

Tours will be from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
